Komar’s practice merges painting and sculpture to reflect on the tensions between the natural and the artificial. Drawing on references from bioengineering, evolutionary science, and myth, her work considers unstable, interdependent relationships, linking matter, memory, and imagined futures.
Combining vivid acrylic brushstrokes with 3D-printed polymer sculptures, she creates hybrid works referencing biomolecular forms, mythology, and mammalian anatomies. The interplay of two- and three-dimensional elements generates a dynamic tension, evoking systems in flux - evolving, merging, and adapting.
